Concrete Infrastructure Research Group (CIRG)

Jess Forsdyke, Professor Janet Lees

The definition of “concrete” is evolving, with inclusion of non-traditional aggregates and additions such as fibres becoming more common. Understanding the behaviour of these new and developing concretes is important in enabling them to become more widely used.   Alternatives to conventional steel materials for the internal or external reinfrorcement of concrete are also being investigated.
