Concrete Infrastructure Research Group (CIRG)

In late April, members of the CIRG attended the 51st Institute of Concrete Technology (ICT) Symposium, chaired by the head of the CIRG, Professor Janet Lees. The Symposium covered the technical, operational and political aspects of achieving lower carbon concrete use. There was a particular focus on the opportunities and challenges this presents for the future of concrete. The following day, members of the ICT visited the CIRG at their home at the UKCRIC National Research Facility for Infrastructure Sensing (NRFIS). ICT members were given a tour of the laboratory facilities engaging in thought provoking discussions regarding the research interests of the CIRG.
